Bradford District Music Strategy Launch

You're invited to the launch of Bradford's first-ever music strategy! Bradford District Music Strategy has been developed throughout 2026, with funding from Arts Council England. The project builds on Bradford 2025's landmark year and on more than five years of Bradford Producing Hub's work strengthening the district's grassroots music ecosystem. Led by Nanette Brimble and Caroline Hansell, it brought together artists, venues, promoters, educators and music lovers to shape a shared roadmap made by and for Bradford. Through district-wide workshops, surveys and a dedicated steering group, the strategy reflects the real voices and ambitions of the local scene. It sets out clear priorities and practical actions for talent development, venue sustainability and sector growth. It will help guide future funding, improve support for grassroots venues, and build stronger routes to sustainable music careers in Bradford. Young people aged 18โ€“25 have also gained hands-on industry experience through paid, mentored placements. The launch event, supported by the BPI and Bradford Live, will feature live music and conversation and speeches from BPI CEO Jo Twist and Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire. The evening kicks off Bradford Music Month, a celebration of music across the district throughout November. All are welcome to help celebrate the launch - Thursday 29th October 2026, Bradford Live from 3.30pm.
